1. Service Description
Archive.st is a web-based utility for archiving internet content. Our service allows users to create snapshots of web pages for preservation and reference purposes. Basic archiving is free; optional paid Pro plans add further features.
2. No Warranties or Guarantees
There is no guarantee of storage, rightfulness, accuracy, or legality of content displayed on this website. We provide this service "as-is" without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Permanent storage of archived content
- Accuracy or completeness of archived pages
- Availability of the service at all times
- Legal compliance of archived content
This applies to paid plans as well as free use. Paying for Pro does not create a guarantee of permanent storage or uninterrupted availability.
3. User Responsibilities
By using this site you agree to do so in a civil and legal manner. Users must:
- Only archive content they have the right to archive
- Not use the service for illegal purposes
- Respect copyright and intellectual property rights
- Not attempt to overwhelm or abuse our systems
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
4. Indemnification
By using this site you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owner, operator, and affiliates of this site. This means you agree to protect us from any legal claims, damages, or expenses that may arise from your use of our service.
5. Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove or disable archived content in the following circumstances:
- Valid court orders requiring content removal
- Legitimate DMCA takedown notices
- Content that violates these terms of service
- Technical or legal requirements
6. Prohibited Uses
The following uses of our service are strictly prohibited:
- Archiving illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content
- Violating copyright or intellectual property rights
- Attempting to hack, disrupt, or damage our systems
- Using automated tools to overwhelm our service
- Reselling or redistributing the service without prior written permission
7. Privacy and Data
We collect minimal data necessary to operate our service. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.
8. Accounts and Credentials
Accounts are optional and are identified by a username only. We do not require an email address. When you register, we generate a password and a recovery code and display them once.
- You are responsible for storing your credentials securely and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- We store only cryptographic hashes of your password and recovery code. We cannot read them, resend them, or restore them.
- If you lose both your password and your recovery code, your account cannot be recovered and any remaining subscription time may be lost. Pro members who add and confirm a recovery email have an additional recovery route.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
9. Pro Subscriptions and Billing
- Billing. Pro is offered as a monthly or annual subscription at the prices shown on our pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your card details.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds. We do not provide refunds for unused portions of a billing period. Cancelling stops future charges only. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under the consumer law of your country.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, Pro features may continue briefly while the payment is retried, and will end if payment is not completed.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Changes will not affect the period you have already paid for.
- Fair use. Pro limits (including hourly archive limits and video size and duration caps) are published on the pricing page and may be adjusted to keep the service available for everyone.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We recommend reviewing these terms periodically.
